Hiten is the ‘Creative Director – Design’ at RAPP. During his 18 year career, he has worked on some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including American Express, British Airways, Mercedes-Benz, Montblanc, IBM and Virgin Media. As well as boasting an impressive 40 design awards to his name, with D&AD pencils and Cannes shortlists among them, he’s a prominent judge on the UK design jury circuit. Aside from getting excited about beautifully crafted design, he’s passionate about diversity in the creative industry. Having already co-authored a Campaign article on the subject with his brothers, he’s now keen to continue the discussion within the wider business community.
“Visual communication is now an intrinsic part of our daily lives, with everyone from kids to adults intuitively interacting with the design of user interfaces. Consumers have become design-savvy; they care about the visual aesthetic of their favourite brands and products. Which, of course, means creating innovative, fresh and exciting design has never been more challenging for designers. Or more rewarding. This is partly why I’m so thrilled to be judging the Drum Design Awards. I’m looking forward to seeing ideas that are beautifully crafted and resonate with their audiences on an emotional level. And to see how designers use the fundamentals of graphic design and express them in exciting new directions. I’m also really looking forward to discussing the entries with like-minded experts from different aspects of the design industry”.
